Produced in only the best of years, this is Paritua's flagship wine. Only the very best sub blocks on the Paritua Vineyard at 2112 Maraekakaho Road have been selected to grow extremely low yielding vines. A Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Cabernet Franc blend. The palate has great structure and layers of complexity of flavour. A silky textured attack with a plush concentrated cassis and blackberry palate, with ripe Black cherry cocoa powder and spice flavours on the mid palate, a hint of mineral elegance expressed as oyster shell with a long flavoured fine grained tannin finish. This wine will improve with cellaring.

53.5% Shiraz, 46.5% Mataro. Aged in French oak. Colour: Ruby red. Aroma: Bright red fruits, with raspberry, cherry and cranberry, hints of earthy spice and a delicate floral undertone. Palate: Lively and complex, full-bodied texture balanced by a refreshing acidity and well-integrated tannins provide a smooth and elegant mouthfeel. Cellar: 2 years.

Floral hints, suggestive of rose petals, intertwine with Turkish delight, spices, oriental musk, incense and candle smoke. It is big-boned and mouth-filling with a smooth, unctuous texture, balanced by a long dry finish.

Upon release the wine is bright ruby in colour. There is a teasing array of vibrant red fruit on the nose including raspberry, pomegranate, cherry and plum. Spice and herbal notes, as well as a savoury underlay, add to the wine's complexity. While the palate has generous fruit weight and velvety tannins, it is balanced with refreshing acidity and a structure that gives the wine classic North Canterbury tension and pinosity.

This wine has a star bright lemon hue and while lemons, limes and mandarins come to the fore, there is a background of ripe stonefruit such as peaches and apricots. Honeysuckle and honeycomb influences come from botrytis, which has also made the wine more full bodied and concentrated. It has a spine of natural acidity and tingling minerality that helps draw out the palate structure to a citrus zest finish

Grenache tannins, exotic red fruits and lively acid provide ample tension. Mataro plays the anchor role, binding the palate into a harmonious balance with dusty, textural, mouth filling tannins. The tannins combined feel massaged and ground, quietly confident. The acidity is fresh and enticing. The palate is plush, complete. A generous, balanced all-rounder. Certainly not over extracted or pumped up. All together an enticing, complex, evolving wine, with a creamy texture, lively freshness and a willingness to delight from the first sip. Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz is a sub-regional expression that is unmistakably Penfolds in character. Conceived from the ancient soils around the township of Marananga, located very close to the centre of the Barossa Valley. The warm dry conditions, rich red clay and sandy loam soils provide the backbone to some of the Barossa Valley's best-known wines. Bin 150 is a contemporary shiraz alternative, a sub-regional offer framed by a mix of oaks; French and American, old and new, small and large - crafted the 'Penfolds way'. As we have come to anticipate, satsuma plums and boysenberries provide a varietal/regional signature. Grippy, ripe and rich tannins anchor a tightly structured frame. Freshly sawn oak. Rye sourdough crust - still hot out of the oven. Toasted pumpkin seeds on grilled haloumi. Sarsaparilla, black cardamom pods and ethereal nutmeg spice.

On the palate, this wine reveals itself as a masterful play between savoury and sweeter fruit elements. Earthy forest floor flavours provide a grounding base, brambles and cola notes weave their way. Cherries and mulberries emerge, blending seamlessly with clove spice. This Pinot Noir boasts impressive length on the palate, where toasted chestnuts and pine nuts impart a subtle richness to the flavour profile. Lively quartz-like acidity punctuates each sip, ensuring vibrancy throughout; meanwhile, silky tannins contribute to a smooth mouthfeel.
