This Merlot is a prime example of the style produced from the stony soils of Hawke's Bay. Deep ruby red in colour, ripe plum aroma's with vanilla, and cedar notes from the oak. The palate is plush and velvety and shows dark fruits dominated by plum and clove and a hint of mocha, supported by fleshy tannins.

This blended red is a prime example of the style produced from the gravel soils of the Paritua vineyard. The wine has scented Black Doris plum and blackberry with hints of baking spice, cedar. The palate shows dark fruits dominated by plum and blackberry with a full mid palate supported by firm, ripe tannins with a sumptuous finish. The oak influence is subtle and provides spicy notes and good structure.

Produced in only the best of years, this is Paritua's flagship wine. Only the very best sub blocks on the Paritua Vineyard at 2112 Maraekakaho Road have been selected to grow extremely low yielding vines. A Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Cabernet Franc blend. The palate has great structure and layers of complexity of flavour. A silky textured attack with a plush concentrated cassis and blackberry palate, with ripe Black cherry cocoa powder and spice flavours on the mid palate, a hint of mineral elegance expressed as oyster shell with a long flavoured fine grained tannin finish. This wine will improve with cellaring.

Floral hints, suggestive of rose petals, intertwine with Turkish delight, spices, oriental musk, incense and candle smoke. It is big-boned and mouth-filling with a smooth, unctuous texture, balanced by a long dry finish.

Bin 128 comprises fruit sourced from the unique terra rossa red clay over limestone soils of Coonawarra, a region that exemplifies the perfume, transparency and seductive nature of cool-climate red table wines. Coonawarra has remained the source of Shiraz fruit for Bin 128 since the inaugural release of the 1962 vintage. To further enhance the regional qualities of Bin 128, the wine is matured in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads, élevage that was refined during the 1980s when the transition was made from American to French oak. The palate is medium-weight, relative to the likes of the warm climate Bin 28 Shiraz. The blue fruits noted on the nose are quite apparent on the flavour profile. However, the wine is orientated towards the savoury end of the spectrum. Cured meats, pepper, olives and paprika flavours vying for attention. On further inspection, almond kernels and cardamom add to the allure. The tannins are silken, finely woven around the fruit. The acid line is as neat as a pin.
